Coaching & Counseling
If you would like to schedule a telephone coaching, counseling, or consultation session, that could be arranged. If you prefer time to communicate via email, that is also possible. You can discuss your concerns with a professional counselor, who can serve as an objective observer as you go through the career decision making steps or implementation of your career plan. Fees are based on length of appointment scheduled and whether or not it includes an assessment or resume review package.
Please keep in mind that phone calls via a cellular or digital service are not considered entirely secure, although with today's technology, the possibility of a hacker are very slim. E-mail communication, unless it is through an encrypted server, is not secure. Particularly in the case of e-mails, you would want to exercise a certain amount of caution in what you disclose. Any clients receiving counseling or coaching services at a distance would be given a client identity number to use for those communications.
Of course, if you prefer an in-person session to discuss issues and you will be in the Cincinnati area, that can be arranged through the private practice at Yager & Associates' Holistic Counseling Care of Cincinnati.

Coaching
Career coaching is much like other coaching situations. In this case, we can assist you to develop and/or strengthen effective job search skills and techniques. Finding a job can be a job in itself. Of course, you need to know what types of positions for which you are qualified and interested, but you will also need some basic tools - a basic resume, a basic cover letter, interviewing and other job search skills. Some people choose to do mock interviews to prepare for that stage of the job search. Others choose to have their resume and/or cover letter reviewed. Coaching generally does not involve discussions of other personal issues that would be discussed in a counseling session.
Counseling
Career counseling can include a variety of discussions. It is another way to help you in the life planning process. We can look at your career progression and assist you in making some decisions about your next steps. That may be as immediate as deciding whether you need to prepare for a job search now or have time to do some research, etc, before you make a move. Or, as extensive as undergoing assessments to learn more about yourself and the world of work and identify where there are similarities. There are some basic steps, or at least pieces, of the career decision making process that we can share with you and guide you through. We can help you develop skills you will need for careering or re-careering. Career changes often involve a variety of emotions; we can discuss your feelings and help you find a way to prepare for and cope with the transition.

Consultation
Consultation is a slightly different approach than coaching and is more like advising. It generally involves more of a discussion to sound out your ideas.You may seek advice on a variety of topics related to your career development or your career plan. Some people request input regarding their resume or other preparations for a job search or a transition, in general. top
Interviewing Skills Practice
In addition to reviewing resumes, another service available is coaching assistance in preparation for job interviews. If it has been a long time since you interviewed for a new job and you feel those skills may be rusty, you may benefit from some preparation.
Also, for those completing their education, there may be a need for interviewing skills or other job assistance. We can review the basic guidelines for employment interviews and, if desired, conduct a mock interview to assist in your preparation. top
